d.a.t. [divulgazioneaudiotestuale] is a peer-reviewed, open-access digital journal, published since 2017 with the aim of fostering reflection on the relationships between music production and music education within the broad spectrum of arts and performing arts disciplines. The journal hosts studies in the fields of music pedagogy and didactics and publishes contributions in Italian, French, and English.
Playing on the homophony of the well-known DAT format, the journal’s name refers, on the one hand, to the dissemination of art music—understood as music motivated by thought as well as by action—and, on the other hand, to its transmission within the educational experience, through contributions by scholars and artists committed to communicating their research in the field of sound, extended to the spoken word.
Two semiannual issues are published, in April and October, with the aim of drawing attention to the musical experience as an inextricable crossroads of theory and practice.
